Halloween

As a person grows from childhood he becomes saturated with the things of the world. It’s all around him. In the home, in the school, on tv, on the internet and sadly, even in some churches – and probably most importantly with their friends. The desire of a young person to be accepted by their peers is intense. It controls all the young person does.
But Jesus said, “Come out…..” and be SEPARATE from them.

I’ve always been “spiritual.” I was always drawn to the supernatural. I’ve tried to put a finger on when it started with me, and the farthest back I can remember was a day when a friend invited me to her house for a seance. I was probably 12 years old. She had some other girls there too, and we played “seance,” none of us knowing what we were doing.
My grandmother was a tea leave reader. My other grandmother had a houseful of supernatural things happening in her home. Both grandmothers had a Ouija Board in their homes.
My mother had a weird vision when she was a small child, a vision that terrified her. So to say that I come from that kind of inheritance is to put it mildly.
How will they ever embrace the concept of coming out and being separate, if you’re coaching them in their efforts to be popular? If they have the notion that being popular is a “good” thing, how will they ever be able to accept, yes, ACCEPT it when they are hated by “the world” as Jesus said?

“For this purpose was the Son of God manifested:
that He might destroy the works of the devil.”
1 John 3:8
Let no one claim to follow Jesus,
who came to destroy the works of the devil…
if that person is promoting the works of the devil
by taking part in this devilish holiday.

The call is clear, we are to be SEPARATE.
Unbelievers live in a world entirely different from ours. Their hearts are in the world, our hearts must be in the Kingdom of God.
Their enjoyments and interests are in the world, all their thoughts are of the world, how can we think they won’t affect us?
No, we’re called to be separate.

The origins of Halloween are purely evil.
Can you sanitize something evil?
Why would you want to?
Is it that important to you to appear “like everyone else?”
So is it fear of criticism? Are you afraid that people might look down on you?
If Jesus says to be separate from them, do you answer “some other time, Lord?”
Really?

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an
unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting,
remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
