New Age Supernatural
I’ve always been “spiritual.” I’ve tried to put a finger on when it started with me, and the farthest back I can remember was a day when a friend invited me to her house for a seance. I was probably 12 years old. We didn’t know what we were doing, but I think it started there.
My grandmother was a tea leave reader. My other grandmother had a houseful of supernatural things happening in her home.
Both grandmothers had a Ouija Board in their homes. There were appearances and other supernatural happenings in both homes. So to say that I come from that kind of inheritance is to put it mildly. I delved deeply into the teachings of Edgar Cayce, and from studying his writings I came to realize I had been incarnated many times and I began to have “memories” of past lives, trying to make them explain this one. For years I lived with awful depression and I was looking for anything that could set me free from it. I had my astrological chart done and when I received the results, what was written ended with “you will always seek but never find.” I had hoped for something encouraging and this totally discouraged me.
Years later a man and woman came into my life and put a Bible into my hands. Well …that presented a conflict. They tried to dissuade me from the occult and new age but I resisted them, telling them there is power in those things so why wouldn’t I want to be involved in those things. The man asked if I’d be willing to listen to a cassette message by Derek Prince on the subject. “Sure,” I said, “why not?” So he turned the cassette player on and the message from Derek Prince changed my life.
The Bible forbids anything having to do with the occult
or the New Age, all of which I was steeped in. I knew I
needed power to be set free from the awful depression,
but I was looking in the wrong source of power. I knew
absolutely nothing about Satan, demons, the very real
and very opposite kingdoms diametrically opposed to
each other.
As I read through that Bible I came across the very Scripture speaking right to my problem.
Jesus spoke of the Satanic kingdom and contrasted it to his Kingdom. He said:
“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.
I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”
John 10:10
It’s been many years now since that day, and I could never have believed the depth and truth of his statement. He took me from the ash pile and has given me exactly that: “life more abundantly.”
But there’s more.
There are two kingdoms. The second one is the kingdom of Satan
which is very literal and very real, with a hierachy and agendas.
The Bible tells us so much about this evil kingdom and most people
don’t want to hear about it. With good reason, I guess. It is evil.
But unless one knows his enemy he’s a sitting duck for deadly deception.
All the symbols and practices of the occult and the New Age are perpetrated by Satan, the prince of darkness. Satan wants power. He wants people to worship him. Indeed, when Jesus was in the desert fasting, Satan came to him and tempted him. Satan told him that he would give to Jesus all the kingdoms of the world if Jesus would bow to him. Satan comes to every human being with a plan to grab that person for himself. He is behind all the governments, all the dynasties, and all the religions. His primary goal is to turn people away from Jesus Christ and to bring them under his kingdom. Little did I know when I was studying the New Age that he almost had me right between his fingers. Had that man and that woman not come to me that day, I would not have survived. Had I not read the Book God himself has provided us, I would have been destroyed. I was well on my way to exactly that.
The Scripture goes on to say that anyone, any person,
who does any of these things is “an abomination” to God.
In another place it tells us that there is a curse on those
who do these things, and it’s so abominable to God that
the curse actually goes down to the third and fourth
generation of anyone practicing these things.
Those who have studied these things will tell you that
the most common curse is premature death, and/or
mental illness.
The Bible goes on to tell us that the practices in Satan’s kingdom are meant to destroy us. If people understood spiritual principles he would understand the clash between the kingdom and the agendas of each kingdom. Jesus came to give us life, and that more abundantly. Satan comes to steal, to kill, and to destroy. It also tells us that Satan is a liar, and the very father of it. So if you make contact with any entity in a seance or from a fortune teller, you’ll be making contact with a demon, not with whoever you think you’re in contact with. Satan knows all about your history and he will insert very convincing details that maybe no one else would know about, in order to have you believe it.
